About Samantha

Samantha is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She works with teens and adults and offers a trauma-informed, client-centred counselling environment that supports exploration of life experiences, stress responses, relationship dynamics, and periods of transition.

Her work is informed by approaches such as CBT, mindfulness, somatic techniques, and narrative therapy, and she integrates these perspectives collaboratively based on what fits the client’s needs and preferences.

Samantha was inspired to become a therapist through a combination of personal values and professional experiences that kept bringing her back to supporting people in meaningful ways.

Therapeutic Approach

Samantha’s approach is grounded in trauma-informed and client-centred practice. She focuses on creating a calm, collaborative space where clients can explore experiences at their own pace. Her work may include nervous-system regulation and attachment-informed perspectives, with regular check-ins to ensure counselling remains relevant and aligned with client goals.

Philosophy & Values

Samantha values counselling that is collaborative, safe, and non-judgmental, with attention to cultural humility and lived experience. She approaches counselling as a space for understanding, reflection, and support during complex emotional experiences and life transitions.

Areas of focus

Anxiety, Stress & Emotional Regulation

Ongoing worry, chronic stress, workplace and life challenges, perfectionism, experiences of overwhelm, and burnout.

Relationships, Boundaries & Attachment Patterns

Relationship challenges, boundaries, attachment patterns, parenting concerns, and family communication.

Trauma-Informed Counselling

Exploring the impact of difficult or distressing experiences, including childhood experiences and ongoing emotional responses, using a trauma-informed lens.

Self-Worth, Identity & Life Transitions

Identity exploration (including cultural identity, gender and sexuality), self-esteem, inner criticism, and navigating personal or professional transitions.

"I often think of the idea that healing is not linear. Growth involves patience, self-compassion, and embracing both the challenges and small victories along the way.

What to expect

In the first session, clients can expect a warm space to share what brought them to counselling, discuss goals and priorities, and ask questions. Samantha explains the counselling process, confidentiality, and next steps, and supports clients in determining whether her approach feels like a good fit.

Beyond therapy

Outside of work, Samantha enjoys being outdoors (including hiking and time with her dog), movement, and time with loved ones.
