About Sharon
Sharon Kegwaehi is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She works with adolescents, young adults, and adults, offering a warm, non-judgmental space for individuals navigating life’s challenges, whether that means managing anxiety, processing grief, adjusting to a new environment, or rediscovering who they are through a period of change.
Sharon is drawn to this work through a belief in the power of human connection and a commitment to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly within communities where seeking support has not always felt accessible or safe. She brings genuine curiosity and humility to every client she works with, and approaches each person’s story with deep respect for the complexity of their lived experience.
Therapeutic Approach
Sharon’s approach is integrative and client-led, drawing from person-centred therapy, CBT, solution-focused brief therapy, emotion-focused therapy, Gestalt therapy, and psychodynamic perspectives, adapting her methods based on what resonates most with each individual. She also draws on mindfulness techniques and reflective practices such as letter writing to help clients explore their emotions, understand their experiences, and process what they are carrying.
Her work is grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice, which means she considers each client’s background, identity, and community context as a meaningful part of how they experience the world and how healing can take shape for them.
Philosophy & Values
Sharon is guided by a core value of humility. She believes that no therapist, and no single approach, has all the answers, and that the most meaningful work happens when a client feels genuinely met where they are. She approaches each session with openness and a commitment to understanding the person in front of her, not just the presenting concern.
She also believes that solutions begin with conversation. For clients who have felt unsure about starting therapy, Sharon’s message is simple: you do not have to have it all figured out before you show up. The act of starting the conversation is itself the first step.

What to expect
In a first session, Sharon begins by introducing herself and walking through the informed consent process so clients have a clear understanding of how therapy works and what to expect. From there, the conversation shifts to getting to know you, what has brought you in, what you are currently experiencing, and what you are hoping to work toward.
The first session is warm, exploratory, and unhurried. Clients leave with a sense of how Sharon works, a clearer picture of the path forward, and the experience of being in a space that feels genuinely supportive.
Beyond therapy
Outside of her work with clients, Sharon recharges by watching films and television, which she sees as a window into the breadth of human experience. She values personal connection and finds meaning in the everyday moments of relating to the people around her.
